Music Meme: An Artist You Like that Your Parents Listen To
This is a bit of a weird question. There isn't much music my parents listen to that I don't like. It's where I got my love for The Grateful Dead, Bob Dylan, Rod Stewart, Bruce Springsteen, Joe Jackson, etc. Even artists like The Dixie Chicks, Emmylou Harris, and Nickel Creek came from my mom's CD collection. My musical tastes (except for the love of country) were pretty heavily influenced by my parent's musical tastes. So I could answer this question with "nearly all of them" and just move on. And I think I'll do just that.

I feel the same way. My parents have amazing taste in music. My mother is mostly into classic rock and classical music. My father was a punk and grew up listening to country; his tastes have evolved from there. He likes old punk rock, grunge, folk, bluegrass, alternative rock, etc. I find when my parents are listening to music I almost always like what I am hearing. This song is one of my mother's favorites, she requested it at my wedding and we danced to it. It is probably a song I wouldn't love or appreciate if my mom hadn't introduced me to it. ReplyDeleteI'm the opposite, my mom and I don't see all that eye to eye. She listens to pretty much exclusively music from the 60s. We agree on some Xmas music though! So that's something.
