I really like The Race is On by The Grateful Dead. Something about using the horse race as a metaphor is just so clever. Well, it was clever when I was seven, and I still love it.
I also really like Nickel Creek's Someone More Like You, which is wonderfully bitter and angry. Especially the line
I hope you meet someone your size So you can see eye to eye With someone as small as you
I wish I'd paid more attention to the order of things when I chose my favorite song about love yesterday. There are lots of great songs about love, but Maps is about breaking up. So, I guess I need a new song.
I'm gonna have to go with I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor. I first heard the cover by Cake when I was a kid, which I loved. Many years I later I sought out the original song, which I also love. It's a phenomenal song about breaking up and moving on.

Also, I would like to note that my news, NEWS, told me that the Biebs performed a stirring a capella version of Justin Timberlake's break-up song Cry Me a River because he and other horrifying representation of our nation's future, Selena Gomez, split up.
